Southwestern Christian University has named Jessie Burpo as its new Director of Admissions.
Burpo, a graduate of SCU, has served in several key roles over the past few years, including Executive Assistant to the President , Admissions Counselor, and Director of Church and Alumni Relations. Throughout her time at SCU, she has proven herself to be a valuable member of the university’s leadership team. In her new role, Jessie will work with her team to provide the best possible admissions and enrollment process for incoming freshmen and transfer students.
“We believe that Jessie is the perfect fit as our new Director of Admissions,” Brad Davis, SCU Vice-President of Student Life, said. “She has served the university well in her seven years here, and given her past experience in the Admissions office, understands the culture of SCU and knows the type of student that SCU wants to attract."
In 2010, Burpo - a native of Anderson, S.C. - graduated from SCU with a bachelor’s degree in Business Leadership. She is currently completing a Master of Arts in Theological Studies at SCU.
“Jessie is a good fit for this position,” commented SCU President, Dr. Reggies Wenyika. “Her heart is for the university, and her passion for serving prospective students is evident. I am happy that she has accepted this important role at our university.”
Jessie’s husband, Woody, is a 2007 graduate of SCU and is the Connections Pastor at Passion Church in Bethany, Okla. They have two sons: Luke, 2, and Levi, 2 months.
