The SCU Alumni Association is an organization of former students who have a vested interest in the university’s development and want to stay connected with fellow graduates. The SCU Alumni Association partners with the Office of Development in organizing the annual Alumni and Friends Banquet and helps to raise funds for SCU’s continued development. Additionally, the SCU Alumni Association attempts to support new alumni, and provide a forum to form new friendships and business relationships with people of similar background.
The SCU Alumni Association is overseen by President Jon Chasteen, Lead Pastor of Victory Church. During his time at SCU, Pastor Jon was an outstanding basketball player for longtime Eagle coach Mark Arthur. He led the team to three National Christian College Association Championships from 1997-2001 and was later inducted into the SCU athletic hall of fame.
After graduating from SCU, Chasteen earned a Masters of Education from the University of Central Oklahoma and is currently ABD (All but dissertation) in a Doctorate of Education from Oral Roberts University. He is married to Michele Chasteen, who he met while attending SCU, and has two children, Corey, age 7 and Jace, age 4. Chasteen served as the University’s Vice President for Advancement for six years at SCU from 2004-2011. In 2011, he left SCU to join Victory Church to lead the launching of their new Edmond Campus as the Edmond Campus Pastor. In 2014, he became Lead Pastor of Victory Church, taking over from Mark Crow. Jon actively pours into the students of SCU through preaching in Chapel, meeting with the SCU President’s Leadership Class, and actively encouraging the development of the Victory School of Leadership, of which many SCU students participate in.
