Southwestern Christian University has named Jessie Burpo as its new Director of Alumni and Church Relations.
Burpo is a graduate of SCU and has been a key member of the university’s leadership team serving in roles as Executive Assistant to the President and most recently as Admissions Counselor. In her new position, Burpo will strategically develop and implement programs to strengthen the relationship between the university, its alumni and IHPC leadership.
“We believe that the very best match for the university and our develop team was right here among us,” Joe Blackwell, SCU Vice-President of Development said. “Jessie has served the university well in her six years and is a perfect fit with our mission. She is a graduate of SCU and has an extensive IPHC background growing.”
Burpo, a native of Anderson, S.C., graduated from SCU in 2010 with a degree in business leadership. She is currently completing course work for a Master of Arts in Theological Science.
“Jessie is a great fit for this position,” stated SCU President Reggies Wenyika. “Her heart is for the university and her connections through our alumni and her IPHC background will serve us well. I am excited she has agreed to accept this new important role at our university.”
Burpo’s husband, Woody, is a 2007 graduate of SCU and is the Director of Student Ministries at Passion Church in Bethany. The couple have one child, a son, Luke.
