Jon Chasteen leaving SCU to join Victory Church
After six years of service at Southwestern Christian University, Vice President for University Advancement, Jon Chasteen, recently accepted a new position with Victory Church. Chasteen will serve as the campus pastor and administrator of a new Edmond, Oklahoma campus that is being launched later this fall. Victory Church, a church of approximately 8-9,000 led by Pastor Mark Crow, has campuses in various locations, including Warr Acres, Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma, Corpus Christi, Texas, South Africa and now in Edmond, Oklahoma.
“Jon has been a loyal and dedicated member of the SCU family who will be greatly missed,” commented SCU President, Dr. Ed Huckeby. “However, this is a wonderful opportunity and we certainly wish him and his family well.”
“Southwestern flows through my veins and it always will,” Chasteen stated. “Working at Southwestern has been one the biggest honors of my life. I have met and worked with some of the most incredible individuals throughout my time here. The current growth and excitement taking place at SCU is what I have dreamed for since I first came to Southwestern as a student in 1997. I have no doubt in my mind that Dr. Huckeby, the Board of Regents and the Administration are taking the university to new heights. It will be my honor to continue serving along side them in a new role, as a very involved alumnus of this great university.”
