Faculty are appointed for one academic year. Contract renewal is contingent on compliance with
University policies, code of conduct, teaching effectiveness, scholarly activity, and
manageability. Annual faculty reviews for full-time faculty are conducted every fall semester by
Department Chairs. Recommendations for renewal of faculty contracts are given to Academic
Deans by the Department Chairs. Faculty recommended for non-renewal are discussed between
the Department Chair and Dean. Final discretion for recommendations is made by the Academic
Dean and reported to the VPAA by December each year. The VPAA has the final decision
regard the renewal or non-renewal of faculty contracts in conjunction with the above stated areas
as well as enrollment trends budget restrictions. Non-renewed faculty must be notified by April1st.
