Creative Arts Receives $1,000 from Aldridge Foundation
Mr. Rusty Aldridge, Board Member, presented the check to the Creative Arts Department
Southwestern Christian University’s Creative Arts Department received a $1,000 grant from the Aldridge Foundation Monday.
The Creative Arts faculty submitted a grant proposal to the Tom and Marye Kate Aldridge Charitable and Educational Trust during spring 2016.
Professor David Roman, Chair of Creative Arts, was notified by the Foundation in August that SCU had been awarded $1,000 to be applied to build the Collins Chapel series. The Collins Chapel series will be a Creative Arts fundraiser to assist with student scholarships each year.
The Tom & Marye Kate Aldridge Foundation was created in 1995 to honor the beliefs and values of Tom and Marye Kate Aldridge. Marye Kate was a teacher and believed that a person’s education was the only thing they could truly possess.
The Aldridge Foundation supports innovative teaching methods that are used to address common problems. They award grants to support educational endeavors that will strengthen the growth opportunities of institutions and individuals.
