The chief goal of evaluating faculty members is for the improvement of teaching and learning.
Areas for consideration of evaluation will be the following:
1. Teaching effectiveness
2. Professional contributions
3. Value to the University, church and community
Every Faculty Member’s performance is subject to review to determine whether each Faculty
Member has fulfilled her/his duties. An Overall Assessment of “unsatisfactory” initiates an
intervention process. Evaluations of “needs improvement” overall or “unsatisfactory” in one
area will result in follow-up from the Provost’s office to assure that a process for improvement is
in place. Evaluations with “needs improvement” in one area should be addressed by the Dean
half-way through the academic year and again in the next annual review.
A copy of the form used for faculty evaluation is located in the appendix of the faculty
