Departments who determine additional staff is necessary must send a proposal for this position to
the corresponding Vice President who will then include this in his or her budget report for the
following fiscal year. New staff positions must be approved by the President’s Cabinet. Once
approved, the Head of the Department of Department Chair then has the authority to interview
candidates for recommendation. Once recommendations are made, the VP for that department
will meet the candidate(s) and has the authority to officially offer the position.
