Sixteen years ago, Beverly Haug began employment at Southwestern Christian University as Graduate School Secretary. Haug recently made the decision to end her tenure with the university in January 2011, though, to pursue a new ministry opportunity with her husband.
Born in North Carolina, Beverly was brought up in the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. She attended Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Georgia where she met her husband, Rick. The couple has been married 36 years.
Beverly and Rick moved to Oklahoma in 1990 to become pastors of the River of Life Church (formerly Muse Memorial) in Oklahoma City where they served 12 years. During this time, Beverly accepted employment at SCU after she was offered the administrative position by Dr. Garnet Pike, the Dean of the Graduate School at that time. After 16 years in the Graduate School, she is leaving to begin a new chapter in her life. She and Rick have accepted the Senior Pastoral position at Living Word Church in Maiden, North Carolina.
While Beverly is excited and eager to begin serving with her husband in this new position, she is also going to miss the many friends she has made throughout the years as well as leaving her family behind as she moves to NC.
“I am extremely excited about this next chapter in my life but will greatly miss my family and all the exceptional friends I have made in Oklahoma,” stated Bev. “It has been a joy to serve the Graduate School. I have really enjoyed all of the ministry opportunities I have experienced while here and feel the16 years have truly been more of a ministry to me than just a job. I have been blessed to be a part of SCU.”
Beverly will be sorely missed by SCU employees and students alike as a faithful employee and a Godly woman; however, they also rejoice in her new endeavor and wish her and Rick success.
