Statement on St Gregory’s University and Teach-Out at Southwestern Christian University

Southwestern Christian University’s board, administration, faculty and staff were saddened at the news that St Gregory’s University is suspending operations. St Gregory’s University has been a vital part of the higher education landscape of Oklahoma for more than 100 years in which many young men and women have received a quality education that has prepared them to make a difference in the world. Our prayers are with President Scaperlanda, his administration and leadership team, and the entire university community during this difficult time, and especially the students.

Southwestern Christian University offers its heartfelt support and comfort to all those affected. We understand that this time is unsettling and difficult for many and as a teach-out partner, we are humbled at the prospects of assisting during this difficult period. The Southwestern Christian University family pledges our support in providing a seamless transfer process for all those students seeking to complete their education at SCU.

Recently ranked by WalletHub as one of the Top 10 Colleges in Oklahoma, Southwestern Christian University offers rigorous academics in the liberal arts, and is one of the most affordable private higher education institutions in the state and region. Through the “Teach-Out” arrangement, St Gregory’s students will be able to afford and continue their educational journey under the tutelage of a knowledgeable, caring and devoted faculty while enjoying the vibrant campus life that Southwestern Christian University offers.
