University Provost

Dr. Dana Owens-DeLong has been an educator for 36 years earning her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry Education, Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, and her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. She began her professional career in eastern Oklahoma teaching science and English at Muldrow High School. After five years she moved back to Oklahoma City and taught science and computers for 11 years at Sequoyah Middle School in Edmond.  Moving into higher education in 1995 she served the University of Central Oklahoma, College of Education as the Director of Technology, Director of Special Projects, Director of Teacher Education and taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in teacher education and educational leadership programs. She is married to David DeLong and they are blessed with a large family of children, grandchildren, and Tyler, their dog.  Dr. DeLong is active in church, professional organizations and is a certified fitness instructor.  Her favorite scripture “… in all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path” has guided her throughout her career.
