SCU Basketball teams make NCCAA National Tournament

The SCU women became NCCAA Regional champions for the second year in a row by defeating Dallas Christian College in the first round and Hillsdale College in the finals of the NCCAA Regional Tournament in Joplin, MO this past weekend.  The SCU men were the Regional Tournament runner-up team after defeating Ozark Christian College in the first round but losing in an exciting two-overtime finals game to Dallas Christian College, 94-96. 
The SCU women will contend for the national championship on March 10-13, at the Women's NCCAA National Tournament in Philadelphia, PA.  The SCU men will be competing in the Men's NCCAA National Tournament in Springfield, MO after receiving a tournament berth based on their national ranking.
SCU Coach Mark Arthur was recognized as the NCCAA Regional "Coach of the Year" and SCU junior, Reimond Prince, was selected as the male MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the tournament.  Additional honorees include Josh Gamblin, who was named 1st team all region, as well as Greg Block and Tradidas Williams who made 2nd team all region.

Representing the SCU women, Shierra Bruner and Kaylee Davis were named 1st team all region, as well as Allie McIntosh who was named 2nd team all region.
