SCU Graduate Named Vice President for Advancement
A 1992 graduate of Southwestern Christian University, Mr. Kevin Jean, has recently been appointed as SCU’s new Vice President for Advancement and Development. A native of Noble, Jean holds a Bachelor of Theology degree from Southwestern, a Master of Divinity from Phillips Theological Seminary, a Master of Theology from Western Theological Seminary, and is completing work on a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership at Duke University.
Jean has eighteen years of executive experience in non-profit operations and fund development. He served most recently as Vice President for Institutional Advancement and President of the College Foundation at Mt. Olive College in North Carolina, and Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. Prior to his higher education roles, he served almost a decade as the Executive Regional Director for Prison Fellowship, an international ministry founded by former White House Counsel, Chuck Colson. He has also held positions as a Senior Minister and Financial Consultant. Vice President Jean and his wife, Vickie, have three children, a son-in-law and a grandson.
“Higher education—with all of its disciplines and fields of study— is an asset to society, community and culture; it is the most profound lever of humanity,” Jean stated.
According to SCU President, Dr. Ed Huckeby, “We are excited to have Kevin’s experience and expertise to help tell the SCU story as we develop partnerships and expand our campus to accommodate dynamic growth. Development is crucial to the future of this institution.”
