SCU Commencement Exercises May 10

Southwestern Christian University is pleased to announce its 2014 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 10 at 10 a.m. in the Pickens Springer Gymnasium. Southwestern will award associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees to 128 students in a wide range of fields, including business, language arts, behavioral sciences and ministry.

The keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Bishop Thomas H. McGhee, Executive Director of Discipleship Ministries, and International Pentecostal Holiness Church Corporate Treasurer. Bishop McGhee’s passion for Discipleship Ministries is to invest back into the local church by helping to identify the best discipleship resources, training and support.

Bishop McGhee served as Superintendent of the Cornerstone Conference in Western North Carolina from June 1994 until July 2012 when he was elected to his current position.

Prior to being superintendent, Bishop McGhee served as the Evangelism and World Missions Director of the Western North Carolina Conference for six years and as a pastor in the conference for 12 years.

A graduate of Emmanuel College, Bishop McGhee later obtained his master’s degree from Southwestern Christian University.

A reception for all graduates, their friends and family will be at the North Dorm Conference Center beginning at 12 p.m.
