The Southwestern Christian University music theatre department is currently preparing a spring performance packed full of Broadway hits, including classic songs and dances that any audience would enjoy listening to.
The performance of A Taste of Broadway with a Little Opera is scheduled for March 31st – April 2nd with a 7 p.m. performance each night.
The audience will get a sampling from Broadway hits such as Fiddler on the Roof, The King and I, My Fair Lady, The Barber of Seville, and Les Miserables. Each sampling will include three to five songs from the musical.
Billie Boston will hold the roll of stage director for My Fair Lady, The King and I, Fiddler on the Roof, and Les Miserables while Ted Ryals will be in charge of The Barber of Seville. The music director for the production will be Ray Ballew with accompaniment by Gari Kyle.
The cast is comprised of a number of Southwestern Christian University music theatre students, former students, and close relations to the Southwestern Christian University family.
The cost to attend the two hour performance is $10 for adults, $8 for senior citizens, and $5 for students. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door.
