SCU Spiritual Emphasis Week

Southwestern Christian University’s Spiritual Emphasis Week for the fall of 2010 was set in motion at chapel on Tuesday morning, September 21st.
Taking place each semester, Spiritual Emphasis week is designed to be a special time set aside for all SCU students to focus on their spiritual walk with God. “Spiritual Emphasis is a time for students to be encouraged to devote more time in connecting with God through worship and His word.” said Jason Patterson, campus pastor at Southwestern Christian University.

Services take place during regularly scheduled chapel service times on Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10:50 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. In addition to those times, there are special evening services on Tuesday and Thursday evening from 8:00 – 9:30 p.m. The special speaker during this week is Chris Smith, youth pastor at People’s Church in Oklahoma City, who was recently named the fourth fastest growing church in America according to Outreach Magazine.

“Spiritual Emphasis Week is such an important time for students at SCU.” stated Dr. Jeff Keeney, Vice President of Student Development at SCU. “We want the students to focus on God and hear from God in a personal way.”
