Southwestern Christian University student Ha Min Choi and SCU professors Becky Roman and David Roman joined a group from St. Mark’s United Methodist Church on a mission trip to Mexico City where they worked with missionaries from the ONE Mission Society in June.
The focus of the group was to minister to homeless children living in the streets of Mexico City. The group painted and cleaned at the MEFI Drop-in Center, where homeless children come every day to receive two meals, wash clothes and bathe, have bible study and worship together.
The team also helped provide meals while at the drop-in center. Two days a week, staff members from MEFI prepare a hot meal, then travel by subway to downtown Mexico City, where they sing and worship with the homeless children, then serve the meal to them.
ONE Mission Society is a non-denominational mission sending organization based in Greenwood, Ind.
