Seven Students to Perform at Creative Arts Recital

BETHANY, Okla. -- A chance for seven Southwestern Christian University students to showcase their considerable musical talents will take place on Thursday Thursday, Feb. 20 at the Creative Arts Departmental Recital beginning at 5 p.m. in Collins Chapel.

All student performances will be assisted by pianist William B. Stegner.

Students scheduled to perform are as follows:

Shelby Emmert, of Oklahoma City, will perform Andantino by Khachaturian

Rebeka Willis, a mezzo soprano from Canadian, will perform Der Gartner by Hugo Wolf and Deh Contentatevi by G. Carrisimi.

Kaleb Siler, a pianist from Newalla, will perform Traumerei by Roibert Schumann

Chelsea Tapsoba, a War Acres soprano, will perform Ridente la calma from W.A. Mozart and Se tu m’ami from G.B. Pergolesi.

Madeline Lafferty, a Quitman, Miss. soprano, will perform Extase from Dupract and Ave Maria from J.S. Bach

John Campbell, a guitarist from Fredericksburg, Va., will perform Allegro Spiritoso, Op. 1 No. 10 from M. Guiliani.

Erica Haley, a soprano from Oklahoma City will perform Ici-bas! from Gabriel Faure and Morgen from Richard Strauss.

The SCU Creative Arts Department, under the direction of Dr. Mark Johnson, provides basic instruction to those desiring a position in the church as a minister of music, worship leader, choir director or accompanist.
