Spiritual Emphasis Week Begins Feb. 16

Students at Southwestern Christian University will participate in Spiritual Emphasis Week, designed to minister  to the needs of its students while encouraging them to live Spirit-filled lives. The week is a time where students are immersed in powerful classroom messages that encourage deep spiritual growth.

The weeklong event begins Monday, Feb. 16.

“Spiritual emphasis week is not limited to chapel,” said Taylor Drake, Student Life Assistant. “We try to present more spiritual opportunities for students to engage in dialog to help them understand what Christians believe in, and what they should believe in.”

A discussion panel is planned for Tuesday, Feb. 17 titled “A Christian Response to Racism, Ethics and Morality.” The event is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the North Dorm Conference Center, Room 2.

A second discussion panel will be held Thursday, Feb. 19 titled “A Christian Response to Legalizing Marijuana.” The event is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. in the SCU North Dorm Conference Center, Room 2.
