BETHANY, OKLA. -- Southwestern Christian University freshmen and seniors are encouraged to complete the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) as part of a campus-wide initiative. The E-mail survey addresses various aspects of a student’s college experience, including how they spend their free time, what they have gained from classes, and their interaction with faculty and other students.
All SCU students who complete the survey by Wednesday, March 5 will be entered into a drawing for a $300 Visa gift card. Students whose names are not drawn and those who miss that deadline but complete the survey by Tuesday, March 25 will be entered into a second drawing for a $200 Visa gift card, according to Dr. James Bowen, Director of Institutional Research, Assessment and Effectiveness at SCU.
"Understanding better how we can achieve improvements in our undergraduate education program is important to advancing the University’s overall mission of Scholarship, Spirit and Service." Bowen said. "This survey will help us in our future decision making that will benefit students of today and tomorrow," Bowen said.
The initial survey invitation will be E-mailed on Thursday, Feb. 13 with follow up reminders of Tuesday, Feb. 25, Wednesday, March 5, and Tuesday, March 11. A final reminder will be sent on Tuesday, March 25
The survey, which began in 1990, is administered nationwide by the Indiana University Center of Postsecondary Research. Hundreds of colleges and universities participate annually.
