Students at Southwestern Christian University continued to demonstrate their academic excellence by sponsoring a poster presentation recently completed at Southern Nazarene University Undergraduate Research Symposium. The discussion conference, now in its eighth year, encourages undergraduates of regional Christian Colleges to complete and present original research and submit paper and poster proposals.
SCU students of Professor Dr. Adrian Rus’s “Psychological Research Methods,” Jeremy Wente’s “Ethical Issues in Helping Profession,” and Dr. Rebecca Wesbster’s
“Abnormal Psychology” all participated in the event.
“We are extremely proud of the professional and excellent manner in which our students represented their departments and their university,” Webster said.
The event gives students opportunity to not only experience the research process but present their findings in a professional manner along with students from other universities. While unlike past years, awards were presented, but feedback was given to the participants to enhance the learning process.
Webster said the SCU students presented a wide range of topics that included issues of Chapel participation, religiosity in the helping profession, and depression and anxiety in college-age students.
