Commitment to outstanding teaching is a distinguishing characteristic of SCU. As a result, the University recognizes that quality instruction, as defined in the section of “Professional Ethics”, is a very important function of each faculty member.
Since teaching is considered to be of such importance, every faculty member must strive for excellence in the classroom. This presupposes that the dedicated instructor has a command of his subject, keeps abreast of new developments, carefully selects teaching strategies which are suitable to his course, facilitates the learning process, works to communicate effectively his material, and encourages questions and opposing views.
