Completion or graduation, retention and placement rates

STUDENT RIGHT-TO-KNOW ACT

Southwestern Christian University provides consumer information to current and prospective students in accordance with federal Student Right-to-Know disclosure expectations and related institutional reporting obligations. The data below focus on first-time, full-time undergraduate cohorts reported through the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS), along with selected supplemental institutional information.

These graduation and transfer-out rates apply to a specific federal reporting cohort rather than to all SCU students. In general, this cohort consists of first-time, full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate students. As a result, these figures do not include every student population at the University, including many transfer, part-time, spring-start, graduate, and non-degree students.

Important context: Graduation and completion rates shown here are based on students who completed within 150% of normal program length under IPEDS rules. Transfer-out rates reflect students the University knows transferred to another eligible institution.

RETENTION RATES

Federal consumer information rules also require institutions to make available the retention rate of certificate- or degree-seeking, first-time undergraduate students as reported to IPEDS. The institutional dashboards used internally by SCU also allow the University to review fall-to-fall retention patterns for particular student groups and programs.

COMPLETION/GRADUATION RATES

Each year, SCU reports completion or graduation information for first-time, full-time undergraduate students and disaggregates those outcomes by sex, race and ethnicity, and federal aid status. The charts below summarize those reported outcomes. All information is from the 2025-2026 school year.

This chart compares completion/graduation outcomes for Pell Grant recipients, students who received a subsidized Direct Loan but not a Pell Grant, and students who received neither in their entering year.

FINANCIAL AID SNAPSHOT

The Student Financial Aid report provides additional context about aid distribution among undergraduate students, including Pell Grant recipients, federal loan recipients, and aid awarded to full-time, first-time students.

Pell and Federal Loan Recipients by Student Category

This chart summarizes Pell Grant and federal student loan recipients across several undergraduate student categories reported in IPEDS.

SCU also reported undergraduate military education benefits for the 2024–25 reporting period, including one undergraduate recipient of Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits.

COMPLETION/GRADUATION RATES FOR STUDENTS RECEIVING ATHLETICALLY RELATED AID

Federal law requires institutions that award athletically related aid to provide a separate student-athlete disclosure report with completion or graduation data by race, gender, and federally defined sport categories. SCU is continuing to refine the internal tracking necessary to present that report in the complete federally prescribed format.

Supplemental athletics disclaimer: The athletics information below reflects internal institutional tracking of fall-to-fall retention among student groups associated with particular athletic programs. These figures are provided for informational purposes and should not be interpreted as the federal Student Right-to-Know student-athlete completion or graduation report under 34 CFR 668.48.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Rates shown on this page should be read as cohort-based federal reporting figures rather than institution-wide outcomes for every enrolled student.
  • Small subgroups may require suppression or careful interpretation to protect privacy and avoid misleading conclusions.
  • SCU will continue to refine its student-athlete outcomes reporting as additional data become available.
