Dr. Hinkle appointed Executive Director for Society of Pentecostal Studies

BETHANY, OK - Southwestern Christian University’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Adrian Hinkle, has been appointed as the next Executive Director for the Society for Pentecostal Studies, which is an international community of scholars working within the Pentecostal and Charismatic traditions.  This volunteer position is a five-year commitment that helps oversee the direction of the society and plans the annual meeting.

Dr. Hinkle has a Ph.D. degree from the University of Wales, Trinity St David (2014).  Her thesis was on the subject of the Hebrew Bible and Educational Theory, published in two parts by Wipf and Stock in 2016 and 2017.  Prior to her role as the VPAA, she has served as an Academic Dean in the School of Professional Studies and Department Chair in the Department of Theology and Missions.  Dr. Hinkle comes into this role with considerable administrative experience, as well as active scholarly interests.  She will begin her new role within the society after the next conference in March 2019.  

This prestigious honor is not only well deserved by our VPAA, but also reflects the high academic performance level of our faculty. We are very proud of her and all of her accomplishments.
