Judah Whitman - Student Spotlight
Southwestern Christian University has been very instrumental in my life since I first came here. I am currently in my fourth semester here and I am studying Pastoral Ministry. I originally came to SCU to be on the Men’s Golf Team, but I quickly realized that I wanted to do more than just play golf. I love this university so much because it has provided me with many opportunities and I am super blessed and thankful for that! Along with being on the Men’s Golf Team, I recently became the new Student Director of Campus Ministry. I never thought of myself as someday being a chaplain, but I have always wanted to go into ministry and I am super blessed to be in the position that I have been given. All I want to do is just serve Jesus and just give Him my whole heart. I am tremendously honored to have the chance to learn under such amazing and brilliant theology and ministry professors here at SCU. The environment has always been so welcoming to me and it has been crucial in helping me develop in my walk with Christ. I also serve on the chapel band team in which I sing and play guitar, but being on the band has allowed me to cultivate my talents and giftings to be used for the kingdom of God. I recently joined The Awakening last semester, which has also pushed and challenged me to better serve, grow, and learn in my walk with the Lord. Whether it is my coach, my professors, or my friends, they have all pushed me academically, spiritually, and athletically to do my best and to serve the kingdom in whatever way possible.
