BETHANY, Ok – On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, Southwestern Christian University received a $100,000 donation from Heartland Conference, IPHC. This donation comes as part of a new campaign to renew efforts for university advancement that seek to rebuild and restore the University and move SCU into a new era.

The multi-phase campaign is called Bridge to the Future and is one of Interim President Brad Davis’s key initiatives in his new role.

Earlier this year, alumni and ministry partners within the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) were informed that Southwestern Christian University sought $750,000 to cover operational costs and help transition SCU into the next fiscal year. University leadership, including the Board of Trustees, the President’s Cabinet, and a strategic leadership team of advisors, have been speaking with different partners and donors to start the Bridge to the Future campaign on a solid note.

The first phase of the Bridge to the Future campaign covers the initial $750,000 need. Since the campaign’s inception just a few weeks ago, Bridge to the Future has brought in over $400,000 in pledges, donations, and additional income streams—including the $100,000 donation from Heartland Conference, IPHC. President Davis is optimistic the remaining $350,000 will come quickly and allow the University to move into the campaign's next phase.

President Davis stated, “This is an exciting time for SCU. It is an opportunity to refresh, revitalize, and reestablish the foundation on which our university was built. I want to express my appreciation to Bishop Sherrill and the Heartland Conference Executive members for their support and investment in our university. It is a new day at SCU with a refocused vision to raise the next generation of Christian leaders in ministry and the marketplace. With this initiative, we are seeing a miracle at SCU.”

Bridge to the Future is an opportunity for alumni, community partners, organizations, and other donors to come alongside SCU as the university cultivates Christian leaders to serve both locally and abroad for the kingdom of God.
