The purpose of Online Professional Studies is to offer busy students the ability to attain a bachelor's degree from a Christ-centered liberal arts institution that equips students for a life of learning, leadership, and service. Our degree programs are offered as either fully online or hybrid.

Features of fully online courses:    

  • CAMPUS ATTENDANCE: There are no requirements to attend courses on the main campus

  • TEXTBOOKS: All books are listed in the course syllabus and students can purchase textbooks at their preferred location. 

  • EXAMINATIONS: All examinations/tests are taken online. There is no need to travel to the main campus or make arrangements for proctors.

  • FINANCIAL AID: Financial aid is available to those who qualify.  Click here for more information about applying for financial aid.

  • LIBRARY ACCESS: Online students have complete access to all online services provided through the University's Springer Learning Center Library. Off-campus access to certain resources requires an additional login.

  • ACCREDITATION AND AFFILIATION:  Southwestern Christian University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, a Commission of the North Central Association Colleges and Schools, and is approved by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education to operate as a degree-granting institution of higher education. SCU is approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for the admission of international students and the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs State Approving Agency.  Southwestern Christian University is a participant in the Southern Regional Education Board's Electronic Campus and is an institutional participant in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements.

 Southwestern Christian University Online Student Complaint Procedure 

Southwestern Christian University aims to resolve each issue presented to ensure that each individual is treated fairly and following all Southwestern Christian University policies, procedures and standards of conduct. Students who desire to resolve a grievance should follow the University’s student grievance procedure found on the University website and in the Student Handbook. If you have not been able to resolve your problem through these established avenues and need assistance with concerns related to your University experience – academic or nonacademic, please contact the Vice President.
If a student has gone through the university grievance procedure but feels the issue cannot be solved by the university, a complaint may be filed with Southwestern Christian University’s accreditation entity, The Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
