Diploma Replacement Request
The Southwestern Christian University diploma is a unique document. Copies are not retained once they are issued. While diplomas are for decorative purposes only and not the official document identifying degree conferral and honors, (official transcripts are used as confirmation of degree conferral and honors), SWCU takes a much precaution necessary to protect alumni from identity theft. Therefore, Southwestern Christian University requires a validation of identity when issuing a replacement diploma. Requests must be made using the Request for Replacement Diploma Form (link is below). The form must be signed by a Notary Public and submitted to SWCU with a check or money order for the fee listed on the form. Diplomas are mailed using the U.S. Postal Service only and should be received within four weeks after the next available graduation date or the receipt of a rush request.
Diplomas are replaced free of charge if the order request coincides with the regularly scheduled diploma order for the May Commencement, August 1 or December 30 graduates. If the person requesting a diploma cannot wait for a regular order and would like to rush the replacement, there is a $25 fee which must be included with the request form.
Each replacement diploma follows the current diploma format. All replacement diplomas bear the signatures of the current chair and secretary of the Board of Regents, chief academic officer, and university president.
