Admissions Process
Welcome to Southwestern Christian University!

Admission to Southwestern Christian University is based upon academic achievement, a demonstrated aptitude for college-level work and personal Christian character, and your personal skill in arts, athletics, or your contributions to the world around you.
First-Time Freshman
(Traditional & Online Professional Studies)
Applicants who have completed less than 12 hours of college credit are considered first-time freshmen. Applicants must submit the following to be considered for admission:

A Completed Application
- High School Transcripts
- An ACT or SAT score
- Fill out FAFSA for Financial Aid
Standard Admission is based on meeting 2 of the 3 following criteria:
- An ACT composite score of at least 19 or SAT of at least 990 (CR + M)
- Unweighted high school GPA of at least 2.0
- Class rank in the upper half
If you do not meet Standard Admission requirements, you may be considered for conditional or probationary acceptance.
Conditional Admission
- An ACT composite score of 16 through 18 or SAT of at least 790 through 890 (CR + M)
- Un-weighted high school GPA of at least 2.0
- Class rank in the upper half
Freshman Granted Conditional Admission:
1) Will be limited to an enrollment of 13 hours during the first semester.
2) May be required to enroll in appropriate remedial courses.
3) May be Limited to one university activity or Athletic team until the conditional status is removed.
4) Conditionally accepted students will be required to achieve at least a 2.0 GPA during their first semester.
Concurrent Enrollment
High school juniors and seniors who meet the entrance criteria may enroll in up to 11 credit hours per semester at the discounted rate of $66/credit hour. Please note that textbooks are not included with tuition. High school students may take a maximum of 24 credit hours at the discounted rate during their time at SCU. Both on-ground and online courses are available to Concurrent students. Students interested in Concurrent enrollment must submit the following:
- A Completed Application
- High School Approval Form
- High School Transcripts with a minimum CGPA of 3.0
- ACT / SAT scores are recommended but not required
Transfer Students
(Traditional & Online Professional Studies)
Applicants with prior college credit are considered transfer students. Applicants must submit the following to be considered for admission:
- A Completed Application
- Official transcripts from all schools attended.
- The applicant must have a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.0
- Applicants with less than 12 hours of college credit will be subject to meeting the entrance requirements of a "First-Time Freshman."
- Fill out FAFSA for Financial Aid
Southwestern Christian University has a rolling admission policy. Once all required credentials have been received, the SCU Office of Admissions will notify the applicant by e-mail, mail, and/or phone.
