Lady Eagles TEAM Runner Up At NCCAA Softball World Series
Kansas City, Mo. – The Lady Eagles Softball team finishes the season Runner Up at the NCCAA National Tournament. This was the 3rd year in a row that the Eagles have been to the NCCAA Tournament but first time playing in the Championship. SCU had to win three games on Thursday to become champions but came up one game short after overcoming 2 back to back games where they had to come from behind. Game 1 of the day SCU was down 4-2 going into the 7th inning when they scored 2 to send the game into extra innings. The next inning Addison Hanna would hit in the winning run scoring Jalen Durrence. Game 2 of the day SCU was down 1-0 going into the 7th inning but would score 2 runs in the bottom of the 7th when Concordia made a throwing error scoring 2 SCU runs. But the Championship game SCU would come up short only scoring 1 run and allowing 3.
The lady Eagles season comes to an end having a record of 30-27. This was the second year in a row that SCU has won more than 30 games in a season. They look to bring in great athletes next year to replace the seniors that will be leaving SCU.
