Office of the President
Interim President Dr. Brad Davis, Ed.D.
The Southwestern Christian University Board of Trustees appointed Interim President Dr. Brad Davis at Southwestern Christian University on May 20, 2024.
In a meeting with staff, faculty, and students, President Davis emphasized that now is the time to clearly define Southwestern Christian University's identity. Alumni, students, staff, faculty, and potential recruits should know what SCU is about—raising Christian leaders who will impact the world for Jesus Christ in the ministry and the marketplace.
President Davis brings a vision like Nehemiah's to SCU, aiming to rebuild and restore the university while building a bridge to the future. University Development is a primary area of concern for President Davis. In bridging to the future, he also looks to improve alumni relations. But, through all that, he will continue looking to the future. He will foster an environment where students can come to know Jesus, build their relationship with Jesus, and receive and hone the tools needed for their calling.
President Davis has over 30 years of pastoral experience. Through the years, President Davis has spoken at numerous youth camps, ministered at various churches, led mission trips, and co-founded Midlands Youth Net (a network of youth ministers in Columbia, SC). He has served as the South Carolina Conference Youth Pastor, a member of the Church Education Ministries Board, lead pastor for Northwest Christian Center in Oklahoma City, and most recently, he served as the Lead Pastor for Living Word Church in Maiden, North Carolina, from 2021 to 2024.
President Davis is married to Whitney and is the father of five wonderful children—Carmen (and her husband Dalton), Evelyn, Sullivan, Ellington, and Deacon—and “Pops” to a beautiful granddaughter.
Fun facts: President Davis is an avid LSU Tigers fan, has a dog named Bojangles, and would love to hunt and fish if someone would take him.
