Research Interests:

(1) The consequences of abuse, deprivation, and neglect on Romanian institutionalized and foster children (e.g., institutional and personal factors affecting physical, emotional, and/or sexual abuse and the effect of institutionalization on children’s academic achievement and physical growth);

(2) Epidemiological investigations regarding patterns, causes, and effects of various factors on children’s health (e.g., anemia in 6-24 month old children and factors influencing the nutrition patterns and growth in children) and mother’s health (e.g., prenatal care and postnatal behaviors; birth rates among teenage mothers);

(3) Personality dimensions and maladaptive cognitive schemes;

(4) Parenting patterns and child development; and

(5) Perceptions about school minority populations.
