Associate of Arts

The Associate of Arts is a 64 Credit Hour program allowing the student to establish a strong academic program while providing a Christian foundation for living and service according to those Biblical values unique to SCU’s mission.

In the Associate of Arts degree are: Thirty-seven (37) state mandated hours, the SWCU Religious Literacy core (12 hours) and Fifteen hours (15) where a student may elect to choose an emphasis in a particular field.

Each emphasis requires fifteen (15) semester hours. These programs enable the strengthening of an area of study the student may later choose as a baccalaureate major.

Objectives of the Associate of Arts degree are to:

Provide the beginning college student with an opportunity to receive a strong, balanced academic program which can be utilized in a variety of majors. Assist the student in acquiring a Christian foundation for living and service according to Biblical principles.Utilize an interdisciplinary approach in giving the student a broad-based general education program.
