Online Outside the U.S.

Below are the requirements for students applying for acceptance into the Online Professional Studies program who do not reside in the United States or its territories. SCU does not accept any out-of-country, non-U.S. Citizen applicant until all required documentation is received. There is no provisional acceptance.

  • Students who study outside of the U.S. are responsible for determining if SCU online degree programs are recognized in the country in which they reside. To learn this information, you must contact your country’s Ministry of Education (also called the Secretariat of Education or Department of Education) and determine and consider the following:

    • The chosen degree program or course will be recognized in my country for employment or further education.

    • An SCU degree may have to be validated in my country, and I take responsibility for that process.

    • I am responsible for paying any taxes or surcharges levied on tuition by my country.

    • SCU will collect, store, and process my personal data in order to deliver courses and communicate with me. SCU will follow U.S. privacy laws about data protection, unless otherwise noted.

    • My location has sufficient internet availability, and I have access to a computer that meets the technical requirements.

    • I understand that SCU does not sponsor visas.

  • Non-U.S. Citizens: TOEFL scores at the High-Intermediate level that prove English proficiency are required for acceptance, or a Duolingo score of at least 123. (This requirement may be waived if the applicant is from a predominantly English-speaking country or is transferring from the Traditional program with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher.)

  • All foreign transcripts must be submitted as translated and evaluated by a credentialing agency, such as Wes, ECE.or Incred

  • Applicants must reside in an unrestricted country for Canvas access - https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Basics-Guide/Which-countries-are-restricted-from-using-Canvas/ta-p/27

  • Non-U.S. Citizen applicants must pay an International Online Student Application Fee of $75.  (If the student is transferring from the Traditional program, this application fee may be waived.)

  • Students residing outside of the U.S. are responsible for access to all required resources from their location in order to successfully complete coursework. Access to the resources below is required of all students:

If at any time an Out-of-Country, Non-U.S. Citizen student relocates to the United States, they must re-apply as International Students within the United States. International Students within the United States may have different enrollment requirements and limitations.
